Community Partnership School
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Primary Responsibilities

The Business Manager oversees Community Partnership School’s (CPS) financial operations in addition to providing administrative support for human resources, the physical plant, and auxiliary services. The School depends on this individual to help shape and manage systems that safeguard its assets while skillfully informing overall strategy formulation and implementation, all in close collaboration with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and Administrative Team.

Reporting to the Head of School and serving as a member of the Administrative Team, the Business Manager ensures organizational effectiveness by interfacing between the organization's program, development and financial functions – a task that is especially important given the buildup necessary for operating as a larger, more dynamic school over the coming years. The Business Manager also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices, and supports the work of the Board Finance Committee.

School Overview

Founded in 2006, CPS is a Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade independent elementary school located in North Central Philadelphia. CPS works diligently toward realizing its ambitious mission: to meet talent with opportunity by providing pre-kindergarten and elementary aged children - from low-wealth, low-income backgrounds - with a high-quality, affordable education that prepares them for lifelong well-being and strengthens the communities to which they belong.

Our approach embraces family engagement and whole-child development – in other words, actively stimulating the intellectual, social-emotional and physical well-being of each of our students in active partnership with their families.  CPS begins with Pre-Kindergarten in order to capture early learning benefits for both student and family. The School program ends after Fifth Grade with strong focus on individual fit in the placement of our graduates into middle school. Our investment in the success of our students doesn’t end at Fifth Grade as we provide on-going graduate support via a comprehensive alumni program. Community demand far exceeds the number of spots available each year, and we are positioned to broaden the scope of our impact.

We seek an experienced business officer with the know-how and drive to strategically support the School’s growing fiscal and human resources needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a results oriented, innovative professional to cultivate financial and operational solutions impacting CPS’ growing success and sustainability.
